ATLANTIC SHOPPING CENTER REDEVELOPMENT

ATLANTIC SHOPPING CENTER REDEVELOPMENT
Project Type: Commercial, Adaptive Reuse
Location:  Atlanta, GA
Year Completed: 2018

Description: Situated in a flood plain and bordered by a busy Interstate, this site has mostly gone without improvements since its construction in 1962.  Local zoning dictates that the underground culvert which runs through the vast parking lot must be maintained and that any site improvements must be done with care.  Furthermore, the existing 100,000 square foot building (which is an expansive block-and-steel ‘big box’) must keep its original footprint.  The new improvements to the site include site-wide landscaping and renovating the existing building to house two large commercial tenants.
