Description:
This multi-dwelling residential project sits among 19 acres of beautiful old growth hardwoods on a mountain top in North Carolina. Designed as a gathering spot for multiple generations of a family and their friends, the primary goals of the project revolved around facilitating shared interaction while simultaneously providing autonomy and privacy for the individual groups. The resulting design consists of two individual houses oriented towards spectacular mountaintop views with a shared, open communal space between, bridging from one house to the other.
